The jackpot for Saturday's Powerball drawing skyrockets to $457 million

The Powerball multi-state lottery jackpot built to $457 million (cash value $331.6 million) Saturday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $432 million drawing, lottery officials said. The numbers from Wednesday night, September 15th, 2021 were 01, 04, 18, 46, 62 with Power Ball number 25.
Although there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There were 3 lucky players that matched the first 5 white ball numbers and won the second prize. The three second prize winning ticket(s) bought in California(1), Illinois(1) and North Carolina(1) won $1,000,000 cash.
Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 22 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 2 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Also, 411 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 109 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Wednesday night included 1160 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $100. 297 additional tickets at this prize level were also bought with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
With 9 different ways to win, the Wednesday night's drawing produced 776,894 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is an American popular lottery game sold in 44 member states as a shared jackpot game. Powerball game uses a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) system from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the original prizes except jackpot. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The odds of matching all six Powerball numbers are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments in 29 years. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
