The jackpot in America's favorite Powerball lottery game continues to go up exciting players all across the nation. Because nobody correctly matched all 6 winning numbers in Saturday's drawing the jackpot will climb to an estimated $149,000,000! The cash value will be an estimated $$68.8 million. The winning numbers from Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 drawing were 02-20-22-26-47 with Power Ball 21. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 8 draws since Monday, April 8th, 2024. The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in OR, matched all six numbers for a 1,300,000,000 top prize.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with huge prizes. 13 third prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. 5 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
Also, 275 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 85 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the winnings to a total win of $200 each! There were 525 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 214 additional players not just matched 3+1, but also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the winnings to $200 cash each ticket.
There were 32,275 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There was a single lucky New York player matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 69 lucky New Yorkers won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. 11 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will collect $200 each.
With nine ways to win, the Wednesday night's drawing created 412,365 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Powerball drawings occur every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Power Play option, which multiplies the prizes except jackpot. The minimum Powerball jackpot is $40,000,000.
