Powerball jackpot jumps to $98,000,000; 1 second prize ticket sold

No player won Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, worth $78,000,000, bringing the estimated jackpot on Saturday to $98,000,000. The cash option will be an estimated $$45.8 million. The winning numbers from Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 drawing were 24, 29, 44, 47, 54 with Power Ball 02.
Although there was no grand prize winner Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was only one ticket that matched all 5 lotto numbers and won the second prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in AZ won $1 million cash.
Also, 3 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 1 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash! Additional winners Wednesday evening included 158 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $100. 72 additional players not only matched 4 white ball, but also chose the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! There were 447 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 145 additional players not only matched 3+1, but in addition purchased the Power Play option, doulbled the winnings to $200 cash each ticket.

Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball game uses a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) matrix to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $2.
