Wednesday's Powerball jackpot climbs to $22 million; 1 second prize ticket sold

Wednesday's Powerball game jackpot is going to be worth a projected $22 million (cash value $17.5 million), since nobody hit all six numbers in Saturday night's drawing. The numbers from Saturday, June 13th, 2020 drawing were 02-12-32-50-65 with Power Ball number 05. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for 35 draws since Saturday, February 15th, 2020. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a $70.00 million top prize.
Though there was no grand prize winner Saturday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There was a sole lucky winner correctly matched the first five white ball numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 1 second prize ticket(s) from Texas matched all 5 white ball numbers and also bought Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2 million cash win!
In addition, 6 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 1 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash!
With 9 different prize tiers, there were 419,990 tickets across U.S. won $0 prizes in the Saturday, June 13th, 2020 drawing.
Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Powerball game uses a 5/69+1/26 matrix to randomly pick winning numbers. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the original winnings except grand prize. The odds of winning is about 1 to 32. The chances of winning Powerball grand prize are 1 to 292,201,338. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments. Winners may select one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
