Saturday's Powerball jackpot climbs to $97 million; 1 second prize ticket sold

Without a big winner in the latest drawing, the Powerball multistate lottery game has carried over its jackpot to $97 million for Saturday night's drawing. The lump-sum cash payout will be a projected $78.3 million. Nobody matched all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number to win the $87 million jackpot Wednesday. The next Powerball drawing is going to be at 10:59 PM Saturday night. The winning numbers from Wednesday night, July 15th, 2020 were 27, 47, 61, 62, 69 with Power Ball number 04. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 44 draws since Saturday, February 15th, 2020. One lucky player from Michigan won the $70.00 million jackpot in Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 drawing.
While the jackpot was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball had some huge winners. There was a sole lucky winner correctly matched the first 5 white ball numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in California will collect 1 million dollar cash.
Additional prizes won Wednesday night included 5 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Powerball and won $10,000. There were 3 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Additional prizes won Wednesday night included 167 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 51 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, but also purchased the Power Play option, double the prizes to a total win of $200 each! 476 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. These tickets are also each worth $100. There were 149 tickets matched 3+1 with Power Play option, doubled the winnings to win a total win of $200 each.

Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball lottery uses a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) matrix to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies the original prizes except grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
