No jackpot winning ticket sold. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot rises to $53 million

The projected grand prize for Tuesday night's drawing was $45 million. According to official Mega Millions, nobody hit every number and the grand prize increased to an estimated $53 million. The cash value stands at a projected $38.5 million. The numbers from Tuesday night, November 9th, 2021 were 09, 14, 16, 26, 49 with Mega Ball 14 and Megaplier 3. No one won the Mega Millions jackpot in the past 841 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.One lucky player from Maryland won the $189 million grand prize in Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 drawing.

Though the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There were a total of 16 third prize winners. These included 16 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

In addition, 278 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. There were 691 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.

There were 72,844 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 36422 grand prize winning tickets sold in the state of New York.

With 9 prize tiers, there were a total of 850,530 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prizes. Roughly 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member states. To play Mega Millions, select 5 numbers from 1 to 70 then select one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The overall chances of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one time lump sum cash payout instead.
