Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $376 million Friday, January 21st, 2022; Four players won the second prize

There was no ticket sold with all six numbers in the last multi-state Mega Millions draw, and the projected grand prize for Friday's drawing will jump to $376 million, according to lottery officials. The cash value will be an estimated $256.4 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 drawing were 04, 19, 39, 42, 52 and the Mega Ball was 09, Megaplier was 4.
Though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with huge prizes. There were four lucky players that correctly matched the first five numbers and won the second prize. The four second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in won a quarter million dollar cash each.
Other prizes won Tuesday night included 21 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 526 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. There were 1473 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
There were 153,670 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 76835 jackpot winning tickets sold in the state of New York.
With 9 ways to win, there were a total of 2,079,114 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. To play, select 5 numbers from 1 to 70 then pick one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
