No jackpot ticket sold. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot moves to $401 million

Without a jackpot winner in the latest drawing, the Mega Millions multistate lottery game has carried over the grand prize to $401 million for Friday night's drawing. The cash option stands at a projected $305.4 million. Nobody hit all 6 numbers to win the $376 million jackpot Tuesday. The next Mega Millions game drawing is going to be at 10:59 PM Friday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 drawing were 01, 31, 35, 48, 62 with Mega Ball 19 and Megaplier X3.

Even though the jackpot was not hit Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There were a total of 20 3rd prize lucky winners. These included 20 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Other prizes won Tuesday night included 597 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 1599 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.

With 9 different ways to win, there were a total of 2,357,292 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players through prizes. Around 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member states. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
