Mega Millions jackpot increases to $78 million; 1 second prize ticket sold

The estimated jackpot for Friday night's drawing was $68 million. According to official Mega Millions, nobody hit every number and the grand prize rised to a projected $78 million. The lump-sum cash payout stands at a projected $61.1 million up for grab. The winning numbers from Friday, August 28th, 2020 drawing were 03-09-50-53-64 and the Mega Ball was 01, Megaplier was 3. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 716 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There was a sole lucky ticket matched all 5 lotto numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
